Success – We choose to only do meaningful work for good people and businesses. And each business defines success in a different way. We do work that helps them build revenue, grow profits, improve efficiency, gain audiences, and more. All so that we too can find success, which we define as being paid really well to continuously use our talents toward helping clients succeed.
Insiders – We need to understand how our clients make a profit and the business strategies, processes, and struggles that exist in the pursuit. We want to be on a first-name basis with and a resource to our clients' employees. Ultimately, we want to be considered employees who just work from a different office. Access to breakroom snacks not negotiable.
Outsiders – Being too aware and embedded in the inner workings of a business can lead to paralysis by analysis, messaging that doesn't resonate with consumers, and a slew of other pitfalls. We come in as the liaison, the interpreter, the intermediary – the team wired to intentionally think about all sides of the equation.
The Ideas – Just having a big pile of ideas based on trendy tactics to feed meaningless analytics is worthless. Being smart and disciplined enough to know which ideas make the most sense based on the data, which ideas are feasible or achievable, which ideas are most urgent and effective, and how our ideas will produce profit or efficiency is way more important. That's called purpose, baby.
The Team – Ideas are dead without our doers – the ones who turn the ideas into realities. We could call our people many things: craftspeople, artisans, or any other word that would describe the laser focus they have on owning their role or the ambition they have to constantly be better than yesterday. The best word we could think of is just pure, raw, talent.
Hiring a big agency with a lot of executives and a lot of creative salespeople with big, fancy ideas is a great way to overpay for ineffective work.
Hiring a team of doers means smart, self-managed people are going to surprise you with how much they can accomplish.
So, you can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull’s ass, or you can take your butcher’s word for it.
(Shoutout to Tommy Boy. We're happy to be your butcher.)
